Adopter Library

Adoption Resources

Bringing a kitten home is joyful — and a little nerve-wracking. This library gathers everything you need to prepare your space, shop for essentials, and stay on top of your kitten’s medical timeline.

Kitten-Proofing Checklist

Kittens explore with their mouths and paws. Walk through your home with this list before your kitten arrives.

  • ✓Block or screen all windows, balconies, and stairways kittens could fall from.
  • ✓Cover electrical cords with cord protectors or spray with bitter deterrent.
  • ✓Remove or secure toxic houseplants (lilies, pothos, philodendron, aloe).
  • ✓Keep small objects — rubber bands, hair ties, string, coins — off the floor.
  • ✓Latch cabinets under sinks where cleaners are stored.
  • ✓Close toilet lids; kittens can fall in and cannot climb out.
  • ✓Check and close gaps behind appliances (fridge, washer, dryer) before each use.
  • ✓Tie up or shorten window-blind cords to prevent strangulation.
