Meet Marty (Yes, Like McFly)
By Ashley Schausten
We got a new boy in this week, from the same place we picked up a few of our recent intakes, and I already need you all to meet him.
His name is Marty. Yes, like McFly. And I am not exaggerating when I tell you this is the friendliest cat I have ever personally met.
Most cats — even the easy ones — need a minute when they come somewhere new. They come out of the carrier, they find a corner, they hide, they watch. That's normal. That's what I expect. Marty walked out of his crate, walked straight up to me, and asked for love. No hiding. No shyness. No warming-up period. I picked him up, fully expecting him to bolt, and he just... stayed. Immediately. Like we'd known each other for years.
I don't even have the words. This is a rare personality. You hardly ever come across a cat this open, this immediately trusting, this completely unafraid. Whoever adopts this boy is going to be so, so lucky. I mean it.
He's also, somehow, as cute as he is sweet. Little white mittens on all four feet. The chunkiest chipmunk cheeks you've ever seen. He may look a little grumpy in his intake photo — mid-meow, mouth wide open, giving me what for — but I promise you he's even cute yelling at you.
He did, in his one adventure, manage to open a window himself and sneak out. Risky move for a brand-new cat. But when I went out after him, he walked right up to me to be picked up and carried back inside. No fuss. Just "okay, take me home."
If I could keep him, I would. This is one special boy. He's about ten to twelve months old, he's available, and he is an absolute gem. Come meet him.
